The AI x Aviation Inter-school Competition 2025 – STARLUX Cup

The AI x Aviation Inter-school Competition 2025 – STARLUX Cup successfully concluded on 13 December 2025, bringing together secondary school students from across Hong Kong for a full day of immersive AI x aviation challenges. As Hong Kong’s largest inter-school STEAM event to combine artificial intelligence and aviation science, the competition transformed the campus into a dynamic “mini aviation hub”, where students applied months of preparation to real-time scenarios in both flight simulation and AI-powered route planning.​

On competition day, participating teams first took part in the Flight Simulation Challenge, stepping into the virtual cockpit of a single-engine training aircraft to complete a sequence of precise maneuvers under time pressure. Students assumed roles such as Pilot Flying and Pilot Monitoring, coordinating takeoff, climb, turns and approach while managing communication and situational awareness, reflecting real-world cockpit teamwork. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the AI Aviation Route Planning Challenge, where teams used Creato’s AI aviation tools and real operational constraints—such as weather, air traffic, routing restrictions and fuel efficiency—to design and adjust long-haul routes, demonstrating how AI can support complex aviation decision-making.
