OpenAI launched a new function, GPT Store, on Wednesday offering various types of customised and specialised chatbots for ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise and Team users to sell and buy. This chatbot-sharing platform aims to make ChatGPT more practical and accessible instead of requiring AI expertise and computer programming to use AI.
Over the past several months, ChatGPT plus users have already created millions of specialised chatbots. Leaderboard would be built in GPT Store for the most popular chatbots. Some of the new featured GPTs have launched in OpenAI such as Consensus, Code Tutor and Canva for the purposes of searching academic paper, expanding coding skills and designing presentation and social posts.
OpenAI also announced that the revenue-sharing platform will be launched before the first quarter of this year. Chatbot creators in the US will be paid according to the user engagement with their chatbots instead of subscription. The company will announce some specific details later such as profit sharing ratio and threshold.
However, the concern has been raised because of the problem of monetisation. Some doubt that GPTs can be easily copied as building a personalised chatbot does not require any coding knowledge even some of them have already been copied.
In addition, OpenAI also launched another new subscription tier, ChatGPT Team. It can be used for better coding, crafting email, analysing data more effectively with thee most powerful models and it provides team management interface, GPT sharing space limited within the team. The most importantly, OpenAI ensures that your data and conversation with the chatbots will not be trained in ChatGPT Team.
